Flow Through Helical Coil are used for heating or cooling in process tanks. When a fluid flow through a curved tube, centrifugal force acting upon the various elements of fluid moving with different velocities causes secondary circulation. Secondary flow results in higher heat transfer characteristics. Further secondary flow stabilizes the laminar flow leading of a higher critical reynolds number for transition from laminar to turbulent flow.


Scope Of Experimentations:

  • To determine the critical Reynolds number of a fluid flowing through the coil
  • To determine the friction factor for flow of water through helical coil
  • To compare Pressure drop in helical coil with that in a straight pipe of same length, inside diameter and surface roughness

Hydrodynamics of Packed Bed the set up is capable to study the loading and flooding characteristics. It is a packed column packed with Raschig Rings where the Air is counter currently fed to column. Liquid holdup in the column increases the weight of column and also reduces the effective porosity of packing. This reduction in porosity decreases the gas velocity, increases the pressure drop and changes the value of mass transfer co-efficient. The water is fed from the top of the column and loading & flooding characteristic are observed on various flow rates of Air and Water.

We are engaged in offering a wide array of Slip and Creep Measurement Apparatus for measure co-efficient of friction between pulley material and different belt materials. To measure belt slip speed and observe the limited value of load constant speed when the slip Just starts. The motor speed is varied by Thyristor Control D.C. Drive. A double channel digital speed indicator indicates driving and driven pulley speeds. With the help of Stroboscope (not in the scope of supply) it is possible to demonstrate the slip of belt on driving and driven pulley. Used in major experimental applications, this range is inclusive of very salient features.
